Life Science is a diverse and exciting field with numerous technology and practical applications spanning academia, industry, medicine and plant biotechnology. The Division of Life Science (LIFS) offers two undergraduate degrees in the field of Biochemistry and Cell Biology (BCB) and Biotechnology (BIOT).
The BCB Program provides students with a comprehensive foundation in the fundamental principles and concepts of life sciences. On the other hand, the BIOT program focuses on applying life science principles and developing skills needed to contribute to the biotechnology industry.
Students have the flexibility to switch between LIFS majors should their interests change.
We also offer a Joint School Undergraduate Program, Biotechnology and Business (BIBU) in collaboration with HKUST Business School.
In addition to gaining subject knowledge and academic rigor, our graduates will develop effective communication skills, the ability to learn independently, and a commitment to scientific integrity.
