Prof. Angela Wu has just been awarded the ASPIRE (Asian Science and Technology Pioneering Institute of Research and Education) League Partnership Seed Fund to investigate primate-specific RNA-editing using single-cell RNA-seq. Prof. Angela Wu and her collaborator from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, Prof. Meng How Tan, will try to generate single-cell RNA-seq data on human and primate brain tissue and then compare the data with the publicly available mouse brain datasets. This research project will provide insights into RNA editing mechanisms that are specific to the brain tissue of primates.
The ASIPRE League Partnership Seed Fund is open to faculty of ASPIRE League member universities only. For the 2020 cycle, the participating universities are:
The Seed Fund aims to foster deeper research collaboration within the League and to build on the research strengths of member universities to create greater impact. The scheme encourages researchers from the League’s mother universities to collaborate on research topics of mutual interest, with the objective to subsequently make joint external funding applications and build valuable long-term relationships.
