The Master of Science in Biotechnology program at HKUST is designed to provide rigorous training to students for professional careers in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries. Since its inception in 1993, the program has been widely recognized by professional practitioners in the relevant fields as a premier academic program.
Recently, the program has been awarded the Targeted Taught Postgraduate Programmes Fellowships Scheme by the University Grants Committee (UGC) to encourage meritorious local students to pursue interdisciplinary and in-depth postgraduate training in priority areas of strategic importance for Hong Kong.
The fellowship students are required to pay a nominal tuition fee of HK$42,100 (instead of the normal tuition rate); the differences will be subsidized by the fellowships subject to a cap of HK$120,000 for each student regardless of the actual study period of the program.
