Prof. Karl Tsim and Prof. Andrew Miller received Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF) grant

Prof. Karl Tsim and Prof. Andrew Miller (as a co-principal investigator) have received a grant from the Health and Medical Research Fund (HMRF) to identify potential Chinese medicines against COVID-19 infection.

The HMRF has approved 49 research studies in total under its commissioned research programme to address the following topics in response to the potential health threat of COVID-19:

1. Transmissibility and infectability of the virus
2. Effective detection and surveillance
3. Effective clinical management (including rapid diagnosis and treatment)
4. Development of resistance to treatment/therapy
5. Enhanced infection control and prevention strategies
6. Risk of nosocomial infection caused by the virus
