LIFS 1982 Introduction to Biomedical and Health Science Laboratory Techniques
Description:
This laboratory course will offer a practical introduction to essential experimental techniques widely used in biomedical and healthcare research laboratories. Students will gain hands-on experience in microbiological culture and staining, DNA extraction and quantification, PCR and gel electrophoresis, as well as basic protein purification and protein analysis using SDS-PAGE and western blotting. Throughout the course, particular attention will be paid to good laboratory practice, detailed record-keeping, data integrity, and essential laboratory safety. Instructor’s approval is required for enrolling in the course. Graded P or F.
