The Division of Life Science (LIFS) is one of Asia’s top centres for research and teaching in the biological sciences. We offer rigorous and competitive undergraduate and postgraduate programs with a community of over 500 undergraduate students and 200 postgraduate students engaged in cutting-edge research and collaboration.
Our Division has 35 full-time faculty members with expertise in the areas of cellular regulation and signalling, cancer biology, developmental biology, molecular and cellular neuroscience, macromolecular structure and function, biotechnology and medicinal biochemistry, etc. We have an outstanding reputation of at the leading edge of molecular and cellular neuroscience. We are the host of the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Neuroscience, one of the two at HKUST and one of the sixteen in Hong Kong. Also, we have an extensive collection of state-of-the-art technologies supported by the Biosciences Central Research Facility (BioCRF).
